Busy EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

It was a month which started and going to soon end with a hectic note. I had some evaluations from the college there were some subjects which 11 and 7 chapters to go through and had project deliverable at the same time. By god's grace i finished everything on time and was able to keep up my word. I had totally detached from the world of social network, went home after 2 long months. I think these are this is something i never imagined it would be. I am hoping that this semester i would be able to do preparation prior and no last minute rushing.

Guys who ever were supporting me from office and from college thank you so much for all your help and guidance. Its been really tough for me and you guys were with me in my journey during my hard times. I will never ever forget you all.

GOD BLESS YOU ABUNDANTLY

Let Go of Sunk Costs

DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?

You purchased a coat a couple of years ago—you paid good money for it—then brought it home, tried it on, felt it wasn’t right for that day, put it in the closet, took it out every few weeks, and put it back in. You’ve worn it once or twice, if at all. Your partner says, “Why don’t you throw that coat away? You never wear it.” But you say, “I can’t. I paid good money for it.” In fact, if you didn’t own the coat, you would never go out and buy it now—because you know it’s not right for you. But because you own it, you can’t get rid of it. It’s a “sunk cost.” You’ve sunk time, money, energy, and reputation into something and you feel you cannot walk away from it. You can’t throw it out, leave it behind, or give it away.

Think about your life right now. Begin with your possessions. Are there things that you have been keeping—maybe even hoarding—that you can’t seem to throw out because you paid money for them or simply because you have them? Do you feel stuck in a relationship that you know is self-defeating, but unable to break it off because you’ve invested so much of yourself in it? Or you are stuck in a job that’s wrong for you, but afraid that making a change means “throwing it all away”?
The irony of a sunk cost is that the more we put into it—the more it costs us—the harder it is to abandon it. Staying with a sunk cost can also make us more depressed—more helpless, less confident, and more regretful. For example, people often stay in abusive relationships for a long time because the relationships have made them feel helpless and inferior—the very traits that keep them from asserting themselves. Sunk costs can become self-fulfilling prophecies.

Sunk costs are everywhere. We have sunk costs in relationships we cannot leave, jobs we no longer find rewarding, houses we can’t afford to sell for less than top dollar, clothes that fill up our closets and attics, and junk that we collect. When we say, “I can’t throw that out because I paid good money for it,” we are honoring a sunk cost. We are making a decision looking backward at what we paid for it, rather than looking forward to how useful it will be.

But good decisions are about looking forward, not backward. Good decisions are based on future utility—that is, what you will get out of them in the long run—and aimed at moving you toward your future goals. They’re about the future, not about the past. Sunk costs are almost always about rescuing past mistakes and trying to make them work out. Sunk costs are about throwing good money after bad.

You can break free from sunk costs by asking yourself, “What decision would I make if I had to go back to the beginning—before I made the decision to get into this?” For example, if you never bought the coat or never got into the no-win relationship, would you do it again? If the answer is no, then why hold on to it now? You can also ask yourself, “What advice would I give a friend?” If the answer is, “Get out,” then give that advice to yourself. The only reason you are staying in is to try to prove that a bad decision will turn out to be a good decision. And you can recognize that giving up a sunk cost doesn’t mean it was a total waste of time. You may have gotten some use out of it—some pleasure.

The problem is that the costs now outweigh the benefits. Giving up on a sunk cost will allow you to focus on goals and behavior within your control—new relationships, activities, and interests—that you can start pursuing almost immediately. You cannot control the past decisions that led to a sunk cost. But you can control what you do now—and in the future. Giving up on a sunk cost opens new doors.

Today’s Learning-Marketing concepts.

We had a complete day session on marketing management, the first thing is I figured out the book that we were given is authored by the professor. Wow when I read few chapters, I understood that the examples are almost all from Indian market and easy to understand.
Most interesting thing today was the class. I have really enjoyed learning the concepts of marketing. Four pillars and 10p’s , segmentation, targeting and positioning the brand and all with examples from the market.
Before the first break the slide professor shared was ‘Become a cardiologist’
The most inspiring this is if you need to be a good marketing person you have to be customer centric.
Secondly you have to 24X7 with the customer, in this case a cardiologist is always on the call and very much required.
Third and most important is “ When you operate on heart remember this is indispensable and many hearts are dependent on this heart”
Meant a lot to me.. Thanks to professor for enlightening us today with his clear concept explanations and examples. Looking forward to attend two more sessions of this professor.

MY NEW FRIEND…

I recently made a new friendship with a girl. I know her because of my classes, which I am attending during my GMITE program. She is very nice younger to me by a year. That’s all to introduce her here. She is very very nice and similarities of her and me:

--We both are Librans
--We both are studying in the same college
-- We both belong to the same group for assignments and combined studies
--We both stay in same area called JAYANAGAR in BENGULURU

I think these are just not enough to make friendship we share common thoughts and we are comfortable to speak with each other.
I must say she is good in sharing her thoughts public, as i do here. I am giving a section of her speech which she delivered on WOMEN'S DAY...
The part that immensely attracted me is the conclusion. I thought this channel I share and cherish with you all these few thoughts of her...

MY FRIEND'S SPEECH (ONE SECTION)

All of us have experienced how uncomfortable it feels when a highway is under construction. For centuries human society was like single lane, one way road. Now it is becoming a highway. Men and women should make it convenient for each other to move ahead. Smooth drive is possible on this new highway only through mutual respect, understanding and acknowledgement of each other’s strengths. Men and women should create a peaceful and healthy world together for the forthcoming generations.
This transformation does not need a liberation movement. Nothing can change overnight by celebrating women’s day once in a year. This starts with small and simple steps. When women are respected at home and workplace and are given equal opportunities to express their creativity, the collaboration will commence.
Cheers to all the lovely ladies here and to those gentlemen who accept and appreciate the value of women in their life.

This is for your wonderful clarity in your thoughts..

MY TESTIMONY

LORD supplies all our needs at his time..!
I am the witness for the biggest miracle that happens in my life. I have seen loads of hope and trust in lord. I knew things are going to work. GOD had put me that burden to take out my sinful life and clean be and bring me to right direction.

It might sound silly to others but it means a lot. I had applied for a course in a prestigious institution I had all the faith that things will workout positive for me on 16th December 2010 i got reminded that things did not really turned out as i had thought off. I went into major disappointment. Cried enough with mom and LORD.
Mom told me one thing to wait for the second list as human i had variety of thoughts I felt what i did not get in first list what are you talking.

I met my pastor at FGAG church he gave me a verse which said lord will go before you and he will prepare a place for you before he leads you there. The same things happen. I went to the same college on 29th and met the professor and he confirmed my seat on that day, I had faith that on 29th lord is doing this for me. You might not believe I saved in my mobile also those details that lord is placing me in that college on 29th.

This is my testimony in my professional life. I am sure GOD is going to lead me through this course for a year. I love my lord and he is everything for me. Bless everyone to know you as a personal savior o lord. Give them that burden in their life to know you more and more. AMEN!

Disappointments of Life

I am kind of used now to do long distance travels and sleep almost all the time in flight and only open eyes when the crew calls me for my special veggie items. God bless them for supplying all the things on a just ring. That apart finally had a safe journey and reached the destinations; we as human have some expectations from our families
I loved always giving my family the surprises once when I was in Dhaka I just landed in Hyderabad without intimation and went straight to my sister’s office. That was hilarious too as she got a shock that day. I normally do not inform at home and trouble them to come to see me off and receive me when I come back from my business trips. I manage on my own.
This time the same happened I went home with out any intimation. The response was very cold. I am a personality who cannot see the dirty house. After 20 hours of long journey and 3 hours of journey from Bangalore I reach home and my maid was very exited to see me more than anyone. She came running to me took my luggage from my hands and she helped me clearing things at home and clean all the rooms with in limited time. My mind always ringed that my loved ones are not so happy that I am home.
I am not being judgmental about anyone here. As they were more worried about a little one in the family who was not keeping well. My mom’s attention was totally on him she did not even ask me if I had nice time and how was my stay there. I forced myself to tell about my uncle and family whom I met in USA. She barely heard me while I was chanting all the mantras. I am sure all these must have sounded her as if I am just wasting her time.
All good I decided to leave home after a while ask me then what happened. I burst into tears and mom could not just believe how I felt all those while until she witnessed my tears. I told her not to come till bus station to even; she came with the little one and maid. Mom was really in panic situation as in front of her there are so many things. For a little while she did not understood quiet how it feels. She kept quiet and let me cry. Then she said I am totally occupied about little one’s health. I was really not convinced with that answer and I travelled three hours in a bus with almost struggling mindset.
That was my welcome note after my short business trip to USA. Hope and pray no one comes across this situation for any reason.

OFFICIAL VISITS…
Going on an onsite assignments was always hectic and last minute rushing. One thing I must cherish is that I always got opportunities to meet my family members where ever I went. This time US trip is another memorable both in personal and professional front. I had nice hectic days at office and got to learn a lot from the point of view of work culture. Got a chance to meet all the colleagues in the other side of the globe. Meeting reporting director here was awesome.
On an entirely different note met my uncle who is here in 20 min drive distance. It was always great to meet them here and cherish family incidents with them.

Its time to almost wind up things here and return back to home. I am looking forward for that too. Packing and getting ready for a day journey back to India and start getting adjusted to time and then meet mom dad and chinnodu friends back in Bangalore. Wow its awesome experience. I must thank with out fail the lord almighty and then the people who have supported me to get things all in place in short time span. Then people who took care of me when I was unwell special thanks to my all colleagues who always gave me immense support at work and made sure i reach hotel safe.

New fruit I tasted here in US- Persimmon
Sweet, delicious persimmon fruits are rich in health promoting nutrients such as vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants that are vital for optimum health. Botanically, the fruit belongs to the family of Ebenaceae of the genus: Diospyros; scientifically named as Diospyros virginiana.
This delicate oriental fruit is native of china. It spread to Japan very long ago and later was introduced to California during the middle of nineteenth century.
Persimmon is a multi-trunked or single-stemmed deciduous tree which grows up to 25 ft. in height. They grow best in areas that have moderate winters and relatively mild summers.
Health benefits of persimmon fruit
The fruit is low in calories (provides 70 cal/100g) and fats but is rich source of dietary fiber.
Persimmons contain many health benefiting phyto-nutrients flavonoid poly-phenolic anti-oxidants like catechins and gallocatechins as well as important anti-tumor compound betulinic acid. Catechins are known to have anti-infective, anti-inflammatory and anti-hemorrhagic (prevents bleeding from small blood vessels) properties.

Fresh permissions contain anti-oxidant compounds like vitamin-A, beta carotene, lycopene, lutein, zeaxanthin and cryptoxanthin. These compounds functions as protective scavengers against oxygen-derived free radicals and reactive oxygen species (ROS) that play a role in aging and various disease processes.
zeaxanthin, an important dietary carotenoid, selectively absorbed into the retinal macula lutea in the eyes where it is thought to provide antioxidant and protective light-filtering functions; thus, helps prevent "Age related macular disease"(ARMD) in the elderly.
The fruits are also very good source of vitamin-C, another powerful antioxidant (especially native Chinese and American persimmons; provide 80% of DRI). Regular consumption of foods rich in vitamin C helps body develop resistance against infectious agents and scavenge harmful, pro-inflammatory free radicals.
The fruit is good in many valuable B-complex vitamins such as folic acid, pyridoxine (vitamin B-6), thiamin...etc. This vitamin acts as co-factors for numerous metabolic enzymatic functions in the body.
Fresh Persimmon fruits also contain healthy amounts of minerals like potassium, manganese (15% of DRI), copper (12% of DRI) and phosphorus. Manganese is a co-factor for the enzyme superoxide dismutase, which is a very powerful free radical scavenger. Copper is a co-factor for many vital enzymes, including cytochrome c-oxidase and superoxide dismutase (other minerals function as cofactors for this enzyme are manganese and zinc). Copper is also required for the production of red blood cells.
Medicinal Values:

The raw fruit is used to treat constipation, hemorrhoids, and to stop bleeding. As such, it is not a good idea to consume too many persimmons at once- they can induce diarrhea.
The cooked fruit is used to treat diarrhea and dysentery

A special thanks to my chinnana and chinnamma for intriducing me to this new fruit which has so many nutritional values. Thanks to you both. GOD bless your garden and give you more and more fruits next year.

Time zone adjustments
I have been travelling this month during September to a different time zone which is extremely difficult. I landed here on 25th morning and was all good as it was sunny and went around few places the time count starts then where I found it hard to close my eyes and sleep without any disturbance. I finally went to sleep that night and got up in the middle of the night and did not know what I was doing where I was. I felt so hard to realize that I was in a different time zone which is then was very hard to get back to sleep.
I then on second day tried not to sleep during the day and that was still okay and finally the evening , it seems so hard to realize that that’s evening I need to go back to sleep was unimaginable. I tried again and got up so early it might sound odd for everyone. I felt that was mad though.
Now I am fine and I feel I am mentally ready now to work in different time zones. I am not sure when I get back to my own land again i need to cope up with that time zone, I hope I am going to be all fine and have a great journey back home. Pray for everyone who are facing the same difficulties.

ANOTHER TURN IN PROFESSIONAL LIFE…

I have stepped into an office in Hyderabad on 6th December 2006 which had all dazzling lights and all blues. On the left side of the glass there a big poster of a person wearing operation theatre clothes.

I was invited inside and was asked to get seated in big black couches where my so called classmate was also waiting on the same day. I made few telephone calls to my friends informing them that so and so person is also joining with me. Frankly we both were not in good speaking terms. We got into the same team filled all the joining formalities. I had to just sit idle for 3 days doing nothing. I used to go grab a news paper and read from starting to end all the words.

Later a tall Doctor who was in another team gave us an introductory session and took us through the product named LORENZO. I did not know what that is all about. Today I train people and talk so much about that product.

I will certainly miss the product and working with so many wonderful teams. LORENZO kept me busy for the past 3 years 7 month duration. Almost LORENZO was my everything. I used to speak many hours on the same get the issues resolved functional help. This Friday all that comes to an end with this product.

I had bad times and good times in this product and company. I can tell today if I stand in this position it is merely my hard work and the interest on LORENZO. I have developed a passion over the period of time. I always wanted to be hooked to this product. Unfortunately one can not hold on to anything as everything is pre-defined. I call it an end in this so called nicest office and the product.

My colleagues back in Leiden and UK you were most adorable and you always made me feel that I am worthy my presence makes things go smooth. Many a times I got many stars from you they mean a lot to me. Spot awards are nothing in front of those words.

I can never forget the time I have spent in Chennai with the Development and quality teams. Today most of them recognize my voice over phone and they recognize me by my name. Thanks to every one who made me feel so nice even when I am leaving.

I pray almighty to bless each one of you and keep you always happy and healthy.

Professional life

Many of our things are dependant on the professional life. We re-locate the places in hunt of good placements in highly paying companies. We change ourselves to earn good name with the boss (many a times) and for few colleagues.

We change our attitude if our boss tells you are wrong u are this that. We do many things many parts of our life just for a reason called JOB.

Job pays a major role in our lives we change our personal plans for the work and a call in weekends. We stay tuned for all that related to job. This might differ from person to person definitely but mostly job hunt or job change is a major decision.

Its is as hard as deciding life partner and trying to convince his/her families to make the relationship work.

All of us earn heavy but we are also failing to understand at the cost of our personal life and health we are earning heavy.

I have seen workaholics in my career who work day and night. I have always see that tension in my head if something is not working or some work is pending, I almost get dreams on the same. I question many a times myself why I am always like that. Why can not I take things light?

I tried yoga and meditation I think the psychological problems are to be dealt in a different line all together. We all need to delimit ourselves to giving importance to work and workplace.

We (including me) always fail to understand that we are driving to the level of diseases and trauma in personal life by giving much importance to the work.

I feel we all need to make up our mind to not to depend so much on the work and work related things. We all need to learn how to take things light under the conditions of pressure and tension.

We need to categorize what’s important and unimportant for some one sitting on top might be X-work is very important we must evaluate taking our personal conditions into decision making scale.

I hope and pray that we all life happy for the life that’s set forth for us……!
This message is meant for all those feel that it is highly prestigious issue to have a great job and making good money. We need to have healthy lifestyle and happy home which in long run helps, we need to have a healthy spiritual life with almighty which is missing in many of our lives

Ego Hassles
We all have been carrying our own umbrella of ego. My friend always uses the word I will buy you a ego bag in situations where he feels i am being self protective. There is a brand by name ego in bags. I am sure you are all aware. People define the ego as neutral energy, but ego is used by people in different incidents as they want. This is modern time issue which every house or a relationship faces.
All along we were living in a patriotic life style. These days the tread has changed and the upbringing of a girl child is so different from olden times.
There is a misconception between self confidence and inflated self. The arguments can be healthy many a times not on every silly topic.
Giving up will some times help to strengthen the personal trust. We can bend to keep the relationship going in a direction which we want. Ultimately depends on the both individuals who are involved in relationship. It is easy to judge people from outside and give our own perception about the relationship.
One thing is for sure and I personally believe is we should self introspect before jumping into conclusions.
It should be give a chance always try to analyze if every one are hurt because of our attitude and behavior that helps us to scale if we went wrong any where.

Lets live happy with flying colors….. Trust should not break , it should grow and grow strong.

Go Hungry for HYDERABADI BIRIYANI.....
After a long gap I realized I was missing writing the things I always cherished in sharing in the form of blogs.

Today’s incident is more memorable for me. As usual with friends I move out for lunch on Fridays. I have forced my friend to go home and get his car to drive us to the so called ‘Hyderabad House’,. He agreed and went and got his car and we all landed on ‘sarjapur road’.

The first hindrance is the traffic and later we some how stood in front of the restaurant. We saw a large group of people staring with hunger. We managed to get our name in to the waiting list.

The only thing no one would like to do is standing and waiting in the queue for the turn when some one is hungry. I was fine in sitting in the couch squeezed my self so that I would not touch the other man who was unknown to me(Indian culture so called). We got the lavish seats after 30 min of waiting had the lunch and came out.

While coming out some one called my name ‘hi Sheela’. Amazed to see my colleague with her hubby who took a long leave and joining back after her safe delivery of baby. They did enquire how things are going she is joining back the team on Thursday and bla bla..

We came out the police was just waiting for us can you guess for what reason. We have parked our big car in NO PARKING lot. Some how we managed to get out of his hands with Rs:100/-. Bangalore hats of to the police for stopping every corner people and get money out of their pocket.

I am not sure if people learn discipline out of this…

I leave this to you to think a bit … Until I write again Keep having nice time.

A Small Helping Hand....
I arrived Holland on 9th november 2008. I came with two other colleagues of mine and after 10 days later a small person walks into one of my project managers room where I was demonstrating one product to the Project manager. I was standing the other side and all shook hands I was calm a person asked me donot you shake hands in India . That was the introduction I had with a techy guy. I then felt he is a small kid he might not know things properly. But I was confident that he is technically fit.

I then started interacting with him slowly started calling him by name , today I call him younger brother. I truly feel he is one who have helped me a lot. He was calm and a great support in many arena's of my 6 weeks time period. Though he works for the same company location wise i am in Benguluru and he is in Chennai. I want to stay in touch with this person till I am here on this earth, I must admit that he is a great help to me. I thank GOD for giving such a nice person who is famously called thambi. Best part about him is he listens to me and he responds to me as quick in any milli second. I thank you thambi for treating me so well here.
We will stay in touch and be as cool as you are and GOD will show you a nice girl as a partner and you will surely be happy with her entire life. Come back home safe....... No corrections of HINDI AND ENGLISH from monday on words.. ENJOY....

A PASSING CLOUD.....
I am in Holland for the past one month and few more days. I am here for a reason , the company for which I work has a Country business unit here in Leiden and i am sent here for a project support as an implementer. I had done my part of work here so far . I have many things to share here while I was working I had memories which I can cherish always and I had bad dreams which I feel no one should get it in their lives.

We meet many in life we feel we should meet them again. There are few whom you just meet and you feel you should not meet again such people in life. I have met one such soul here. I have a problem basically which I only can deal. I shown my mind on my face. I had a call on second week with my manager almost threatening me that I should be normal with people I mean this soul whom ai am referring. I know what it means to me . After a week or so the Project manager asked me (local person) can I talk with you. I was almost in tears when he started off the whole conversation that went on and on I was blamed for nothing till date for a simple reason that I donot talk to her. I feel I have my freedom to choose whom to talk and whom not to.

In that phase of life I met a nice sweet colleague of mine whom I can never forget in life. He took me to his office let me cry and take out pain infront of him and he told me some one is playing politics here , he assured me that he will talk to local project manager. I felt this is a passing cloud in life. I have unde went more than anyone here. I feel I am not fit to work in this company anymore. As I need to with stand financially I can not take this decision very easy. I am leaving Holland soon in another few days I will go back to my country and decide.

I might have been wrong in deciding things, when one imposes things on you forcefully we as human tend to do the same. This is what is happening with me some one try to sit on my head and say hey look you need to be good with her I will never be. I need to get convinced myself for being good. I hope that day never comes. People were judgemental about me. They decided and labled me what I am. I am calm because every measuring scale is used here will be used to measure our own self by almighty.
But before I sum up I have met many good people here I wish them success in their life…..!
Bless me guys so that I get out of this passing period soon...!

A healthy Heart…..

On the heart day we keep hearing so much on the FM’s and many channels about the tips and the kind of risks that we all are undergoing now a day.

One has to take care of their own health. No one takes care of themselves we all worry about many things in life but is there any minute where we sat back and thought about our own life. We talk about mouth watering food which is always not so good. How many of us eat timely and eat healthy food.

Some of the risks that I thought I should share here …. If you are all aware start taking care of them does not neglect health for any reason.

Be aware of your riskAn excellent way to find out your risk of heart attack or stroke is to know your parametres specifically those associated with fat (both abdominal and as a proportion of height and weight), cholesterol and blood pressure. Too much fat, especially around the abdomen or waist area, increases the risk for heart disease and stroke. So do high blood cholesterol and high blood pressure. Fortunately, all three risk factors can respond to changes in diet and physical activity. Medication also can help. Also,
Know your blood pressure: High blood pressure usually has no symptoms, but can cause a sudden stroke or heart attack. Get your blood pressure checked.
Know your blood sugar: Raised blood glucose (diabetes) increases the risk of heart attacks and strokes. If you have diabetes it is very important to control your blood pressure and blood sugar to minimise the risk.
Know your blood lipids: Raised blood cholesterol increases the risk of heart attacks and strokes. Blood cholesterol needs to be controlled through a healthy diet and, if necessary, by appropriate medications.
Take Action
Eat healthy. Eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables as well as a variety of whole grains.
Exercise. Make exercise a regular part of your life. Each day, do at least 30 minutes of physical activity that raises your heart beat. Recommended activities include brisk walking, dancing and sports such as tennis and basketball.
Drink lots of water. At least six glasses a day
Reduce salt intake. It can help to reduce blood pressure
Watch your cholesterol. Choose foods containing unsaturated or monosaturated fats. Avoid foods containing saturated fats, trans fats and cholesterol. Eat fewer fried foods. Eat lean meat and fish.
Maintain a healthy weight. By avoiding obesity and overweight, you’ll reduce your risk of heart disease, stroke and diabetes.
Stay on track. If you miss some exercise or eat an unhealthful meal, just get back on track.
Monitor progress. Keep track of your achievements and reward yourself each time you reach a goal.
Check up. Get your blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose levels tested regularly.
A Hearty DietDiet is a significant modifiable risk factor for cardiovascular disease (CVD). An unhealthy diet is high in saturated fats, salt and refined carbohydrates and low in fruits and vegetables.Fat
A diet high in saturated fats and trans fats leads to abnormal levels of fats in the blood, a risk factor for cardiovascular diseases (CVD).
Saturated fats are found in animal products. Trans fats are oils that have been hydrogenated to turn them into semi-hard fats; they adversely alter the fat levels in the blood.
Saturated fats should be replaced with unsaturated, polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats, which are beneficial for heart health. Olive and canola oils and nuts are sources of monosaturated oils. Soyabean and sunflower oils are sources of polyunsaturated fat.
The essential fatty acids omega-3 and omega-6 are found in oily fish, nuts and seeds and actually protect the heart. Where fish consumption is high there is a reduced risk of death from CVD. One should eat 1 to 2 servings of fish a week as part of a heart protective diet.
Saturated fat intake should not exceed 10% of total energy and for high-risk groups, like people with diabetes, total saturated fat intake should be 7% or less of total energy. Total fat intake should not be greater than 30% of total calories consumed.
Salt
A diet high in salt increases the risk of developing high blood pressure, a risk for CVD.
A universal reduction of about 3g of salt a day would lead to a 50% reduction in the number of people needing treatment for high blood pressure.
A universal reduction of 3g of salt a day would lead to a 22% drop in the number of deaths resulting from strokes and a 16% fall in the number of deaths from coronary heart disease (CHD).
Fruits and vegetables
Low fruit and vegetable intake accounts for about 20% of cardiovascular disease worldwide.
Adults should consume at least 500g of fresh fruit and vegetables a day or 5 to 7 portions a day.
Nuts
Eating nuts regularly is associated with decreased risk of CHD.
Nuts are high in unsaturated fatty acids, low in saturated fats and improve the fat levels in the blood.
Nuts are an energy dense food source and must be eaten as part of a balanced diet.
Wholegrain cerealsWhole grains have dietary fibre that has a positive effect of blood fat levels, lowering the risk of CHD.

An Accident which has shown me a hope….

Yesterday that is on Tuesday and the dated 15.07.08, as usual I was on my way to office there is a place called BTM 2nd stage Land mark is Indian oil petrol bunk on the left hand side on my way while I am coming from Jaya Nagar.

There is a signal and that’s a four road signal I was standing as the vehicles were all …. Suddenly I realized I am half on the ground and my vehicle full on ground. One fantastic driver sitting in a luxurious Innova stuck my vehicle with out realizing that the signal is still ON (RED)… Another brave personality lorry driver next to him gave a second push to the vehicle as the vehicle was on the ground he could not see and he thought he can move on by then the signal was off (Green light on, which means vehicles can move). I found very difficult to get up as the half leg of mine was under my vehicle .

With great difficulty I got up suddenly two men from some where came to help me . I should say they are GOD sent to help me .. Two got the vehicle up from ground and the other man could realize I was limping he went on asking me …

Are you fine ?
Can you ride the vehicle to office?
You did not get hurt na?

I did not see his face but later when I could such a handsome , I felt like just staring at him forgetting all the pain. He seeing me at that situation took my vehicle from my hand and took it to the corner of the road as I was at the middle of the road.

Repeated the same set of questions I now took out my voice and said I am okay after limping all the way from middle to the end of the road.He just walked off … Felt I should meet him again and offer a coffee at least .

Pray GOD that he should be safe where ever he is ……….

Job Hookers/ Changers

There is a program which is telecasted by NDTV Good times channel, I was regular follower of one program called ‘Lounge’. Normally the program gets telecasted from Friday to Sunday at 11:00PM and there will be a replay on Monday at 9:00PM. Hosted by ‘Rajat Kapoor’ very nice program. Leaving aside the program details.

I happened to be so lucky while I was browsing through the channels last night I happened to see suddenly this channel all smiles, felt very nice after one and half month close to two months I was totally detached from the TV channels of my choice.

The topic for the discussion was Job Changers, as per routine three guests were invited for sharing their personal views and idea’s. The first guest who’s name was Fizal (forgive me if the spelling is wrong) He is by profession an add designer, he changed four jobs for the past 3 years. He said his first job lasted for about 4 months and then so on and so forth. The second guest is a lady forgot her name she is working for an corporate bank in Mumbai she has an experience of 12 years in which she changed only 2 jobs. The third guest no clue where he is from but he is modest at his talk.

The basic discussions went on and the reasons for any one to change job an expert psychologist says ‘ A fine morning you get up and feel that oh GOD I have to go for work’ this is the hint for any one that they are fed up of the job and its time to see to move on(I feel daily the moment I get up). Not only that one good point is when one person is changing jobs he is taking lot of risk, it is time consuming also 6 months before the search and 6 months after getting into new organization. There are many things involved in this. We can not say that the stable person learns more than the person who is more involved in changing companies, learning depends on the individual ability. We can not blame any one for any reason. We ought to keep one strong point in mind that one has their own difficulties, which they alone know. Not only that the pressure of getting more earning wise is also major factor for one to see for opportunities. They also said that the age factor and gender factor which is very predominant in one’s decision making. I don’t totally agree with this point probably some where down the line these also could be factor for the decision making

Like e.g.: Male is the bread winner of the family who has to work hard to get more money to satisfy the family. Females have lesser responsibilities comparatively in this area. Age the one in early 20’s can take risk and see as he is very independent.

One more there are some companies which fail to use the knowledge base that’s available with them. They rather concentrate more on building business and stuff but forget to use the capacity one has. This is the strong feeling that I am having right now. I feel I am under utilized not blaming anyone. I want to move on. Join me in my prayers so that I get a job where I can stick to it for minimum of 5 years and deliver my best in what ever way it is possible with my potentials.

A NICE AND THE LAST EXPERIENCE ONE WOULD NEVER WANT TO ……

I am here in Bangalore when I landed here first thing I felt was the cold breeze and one of my friend telling me see Bangalore how nice weather it is .. Second thing he showed me is a girl going on a bike with a guy almost as if she needs him to be very near so that she donot need to breath even . If she does not hold him then he might run away kinds. Imagine to this my friend tells me Bangalore is very fast and nice place to hang around. My foot, just by holding some one so tight we are not going to have them as good partners.

Another horrible experience I have ever had with any auto- rickshaw fellow. I had to go to Tirupathi from Bangalore on the same week end. While I was returning back some how with great difficulty of few buses that night from Tirupathi to Bangalore. I found one seat in one KSRTC bus which is pushback for name sake (I mean the bus seat). I reached Bangalore around 5:30AM in the morning . I opened by eyes to see dazzling flood light in the bus stop , which happened to be the last stop. Got down from the bus after collecting change from lady conductor . First meeting with an auto driver who came on his own as soon as I got down . He demanded double the charge of meter(suppose if meter is 200 I should shell out 400/-, Hmm My father is one Anil Ambani to pay so much). I denied and looked here and there for some help .

Imagine the fate I donot understand Kannada ,speaking is far to imagination. Second person came to me asking one and half of meter(this seemed okay to my savings mind). I said ok fine better than the first one. He took me a Bangalore tour, where I was half asleep and controlling to just see if he is taking me to the right place ot not. I had no clue where is Softzone, outer ring road. I was careful enough as I had called one friend back in Bangalore the day before reaching Bangalore. I only knew that it is outskirts of Bangalore. The moment I saw Shoba apartments I had a light in my face. I some how could reach to the apartments SHOBA JASMINE , this is the place where my service apartment is….! I got down saw the meter 200 bugs I took out 300/- and gave the auto person. There my miserable time started. He abused me to the core. The security fellow could not help me. He came in side the apartments asking for more money. I took out finally 50/- bugs and gave him adding a line that I donot have anymore.

He tells me people who come from village to this place do not understand the importance of auto’s. More over when you can not afford this why at all you had to hire it. I was silent as I did not wanted to break my head.My friend gave me a caution that auto’s here are terrible. I only could understand what he meant that day after experiencing this.

This was one horrible experience I had ever had in my life time……

GOD save this country and the people here lift us from the places we are in right now and show us better life....

Auto-Rikshaw:An Auto rickshaw (auto or rickshaw in popular parlance) is a vehicle for hire that is one of the chief modes of transport in India and is popular in many other countries. It is a motorized version of the traditional rickshaw, a small three-wheeled cart driven by a person, and the velotaxi.

The 3 mistakes of my life……

Those who have interest in reading Indian author novels must have definitely heard about this novel.

The author is Mr.Chetan Bagat. He wrote three till date and I must proudly say that I have finished all three novels of his writing. There are simple to understand and very close to our lives as we live in India and we are Indians.

I found chapter four very interesting as it talked about maths. I should not reveal the story but can not stop myself from explaining after reading those. The story is all about one small business man’s life. Who is G.Patel , I mean chethan knows him with that name, he is one who has lot of passion to Mathematics, I am sure he will come up in life. I had the similar stage in life.

Ish is his friend and he has a charming and beautiful sister who hates mathematics like me. She wants to clear her medicine which has mathematics for which her brother(Ish) takes the help of G.Patel’s help. One more interesting personality is Ali who is very interesting when u assess his psychology… Very interesting . If I explain everything here I am sure chetan is going to curse me.

I enjoyed reading the novel. It is very nice…….!
